Boost Your Horse Riding Confidence Tip – Handling the ‘What Ifs’

Hi. I’m Anne Gage of ConfidentHorsemanship.com
here with another quick tip to help you boost your confidence. Did you know your brain can
really only concentrate on one thing at a time? So, if what you’re thinking about is
all the “what if’s”; what can potentially go wrong on your ride that’s what your brain
focuses on. That there’s a potential danger and that’s why you feel nervous. So, flip
that around. Your brain loves to solve problems. So, give it a problem to solve. Instead of
thinking “what if such and such happens”, think “how can I”. How can I prevent this
from happening? What can I do to be safe? What can I do to help keep my horse calm?
Just re-phrase it into a problem and let your creative mind go to work. What you’ll end
up with is a plan. And, then you can enjoy the ride.
