Estrella Mountain Loop – Best Hikes in Phoenix Series

hello this is Bee Walker with Modern Canine Services and today’s hike takes us into Estrella Mountain park. The hike today is about 4.5 miles starting at the toothaker trailhead Regional Park requires an
entry fee per vehicle at the time of our hike it was seven dollars once you get to the rodeo
area stay to your right the trailhead is just behind the rodeo grounds by the
public bathrooms this is a relatively easy hike the trail is well maintained
and easy to follow the trail is popular with hikers mountain bikers and horseback riders alike when you get to the intersection of the
Dysart trail take a left the trail continues
as an easy hike through washes with beautiful views of the desert and
mountains Jim and I find a nice shaded spot in one
of the washes to stop for a picnic and to make sure that the dogs get plenty of water now the trail comes out of the wash and
climbs up onto the hillside here it connects with the Butterfield trail
we take a left now the trail is a little steeper and
winds up and down the backside of the mountain but shortly thereafter the
trail heads back down into the valley and we can already see our vehicle in
the distance by the rodeo area the last part of the trail leads us back through
some washes. Follow signs for the Rainbow Valley trailhead thank you for joining us on our hike today if you enjoyed the video
