Ex-Man City and Swansea striker Wilfried Bony training with League Two side Newport County

WILFRIED BONY has been training with League Two side Newport County having not found a club since his recent release from Swansea City  The Ivorian striker’s Swans contract officially ended in June after he spent the latter half of last season on loan with Qatari side Al-Arabi  Bony featured for the Ivory Coast at this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations before returning to Swansea to stay in shape  But despite an impressive CV including spells at Stoke and Manchester City, the 30-year-old has struggled to find a club since returning from international duty ‘EXCELLENT WORK ETHIC’  To ensure he stays in peak physical condition, Bony recently revealed he is undergoing a vigorous training regime with a personal trainer to ensure he is ready to return at the drop of a hat  And while individual sessions will obviously help, ball work is important too and Newport manager Michael Flynn confirmed the striker had trained with his side by posting a photo of the pair on Twitter  Clearly impressed with Bony’s approach, Flynn posted the pic alongside the caption: “Great to have Wilfried Bony training with us, excellent work ethic, professionalism and standards Boys will take a lot from this.”  Bony was sidelined for nine months in 2018 after tearing an anterior ligament in February  He returned in November but made just seven more Swans appearances under now Brighton manager Graham Potter before making the move to the Middle East  Now back in Wales, Bony commented on his future last week and said: “I’m a free agent now so I’m following a programme of training, and I’ll have meetings with my agent to see if anything concrete comes in and then we’ll sit and talk about my future  “There’s been plenty of talking but nothing concrete yet. I don’t know what the future holds so every opportunity that arises, I will sit with my agent and discuss it ” British teen horse riding star Iona Sclater has been killed in a horse riding accident at her home
