Girl Scout Horseback Riding Activities

Daisy, Brownie, Junior, and Cadette Girls Scouts all enjoyed spending time with horses. Per the Scouting regulations, Daisies are led during their riding lesson. Brownies don’t need to be led, but a spotter is always close by. And Juniors may be challenged to ride their horse through a pattern. The girls will also work in patrols doing other hands-on activities like grooming, learning what horses eat, how to keep horses healthy, the difference between English and western tack, or finding out what you should wear when riding. These Scouts will tell you it’s always fun at pretty pony pastures
