Hiking Camelback Mountain For The First Time | Clintus.tv

(upbeat music) – Good morning clan, welcome
to Friday, it’s Friday, Friday. We’re here, Camelback
Mountain doing our weekly hike, as I said,
as I just said we would. As foretold we’ve
got the Bevos with us, or at least two out
of the three Bevos. Jack’s got to
work, unfortunately. He’s got that nine to five. ♪ Working nine to five ♪ So we first went to the,
what was that first trail? Echo trail? Echo Trail. Echo Trail which is
the first, like the main Camelback Mountain trail. The parking was full, completely
full so we drove around the mountain and now
we’re here at Cholla? Cholla Trailhead. This parking was just as
full but you basically park on the side of the street. We’re here, this
is Paradise Valley, one of the richest
little suburbs of Arizona. Amazing looking houses, like
ridiculously rich, rich houses. Definitely a
different feeling, huh? – Yeah. Take it off. (chatting) A little cautious. – Alright we’re about halfway
up, a little over halfway. This one’s definitely, I don’t want to say
it’s more technical, just very, very different. We’re actually
climbing rocks and scaling. This isn’t like,
feel like a trail. It feels like literally
someone climbed the mountain a dozen times and
said this is the path. Whereas Piestewa from
last week was more of a trail. This is a
designated path to walk on. Look at this, look at this. We are literally just
walking across these rocks. It’s crazy. – [Tiffany] Oh stop. (laughs) – [Clintus] Apparently
there’s a trail there somewhere. Cholla Trail, here
they’ve got it fenced off. Don’t go that way, go this
way even though that clearly looks like a trail right there. I’d go that way. (laughs) Yeah, why don’t you guys
come back, wait for them. Enjoying yourself? Yeah?
– I like this one better. – [Clintus] You
like this one better? – It’s more natural,
a lot of rocks. It’s actually
like climbing up rocks. – I did it. – I made it. Oh man, what did
we get ourselves into? You guys can go. – [Male] No, go ahead. – [Mason] Water break. – Extreme, whoo, less
than half a mile to go, guys. This is definitely
the most difficult part. (indistinct chatter) – I’ve decided
this one’s harder. – [Clintus] Cue the
Jurassic Park music. (singing) This is where the party’s at. (indistinct chatter) Alright, we made it. Time to chill, snack time. What do we got on
the menu today, Bryce? – Crackers and
cheese, and apples. – And granola bars.
– Granola bars. – And Skittles. – [Clintus] And Skittles,
Mason bought the Skittles, we’re good. – He snuck them in his pocket. It’s his protein snack. – Alright so we
just finished Cholla. Echo, the one we were
trying to go to is actually right behind me. They both come to the
same point of the mountain so next time, next time. Maybe we’ll do it without the
kids, see how difficult it is. Because supposedly that one’s
supposed to be more difficult, and this is pretty difficult. Snack time. This is the reward
for getting to the top, cheese, crackers, apples. – [Sierra] Everything food. – [Clintus] Alright, time to
make the descent back down. Everyone’s actually worried,
they’re thinking this is going to be more difficult going down. – Are you kidding me? – [Clintus] Over here. (indistinct chatter) You’re good. – [Bryce] Try to
get on your butt. – [Mason] We climbed? I don’t remember seeing that. – [Mason] We went that way. – [Sierra] No we didn’t. We went this way. – [Mason] I don’t
remember climbing that, though. (chatting) – [Woman] Pretty fast,
gotta stop every 10 minutes. – This was definitely tougher
guys, going up and down. I rolled my foot again,
same one, left foot. I don’t know, something’s
up with my ankle it’s loosy-goosy or something the way I step. I don’t know what it is. If I don’t plant my foot just
right it goes (whooshing). Hopefully it doesn’t
hurt like it did last week. Man, last week I was
limping, I was in pain. Hopefully it stretched it
out a little bit so this week I’m like ah, no big
deal Clint, you’re fine. Gonna put some ice on it when
I get home, I don’t know. Tiff and I talked when
we were at the top saying how we’re glad our
kids enjoy doing this. Our kids enjoy
outdoors, physical activity. Both of them were
like, this is hard, Dad. I’m like yeah, yeah it is. Plus I told Tiffany
I’m so glad she liked doing this kind of stuff. Because you know,
as my life partner it’s nice to know that we both share,
we don’t share much. We don’t share much
interest in life, guys. But this is one
thing we do enjoy doing, outdoor activities. It’s kind of one of the
reasons we got our trailer, travel trailer, is ’cause her
parents have always had them. She grew up having them. Started camping
when we starting dating. Camped all through our early,
our first years of marriage. We’re like yep, this is
something we like to do. It’s something we enjoy. Let’s keep doing it. This is the bottom,
good job kids, good job. Mason, what do you think? Would you do it again? – Yeah.
– [Clintus] Yeah? – I would. – [Clintus] Now you
know what to expect, right? Get a good night’s
sleep the night before. Good breakfast,
be like let’s go. No drone flying Bryce, keep
your drone to yourself, okay? We’re here at Nekter
Juice Bar getting the kids some smoothies. Keeping the
tradition alive after a hike. What you get, Sierra? – Orange Crush. – [Clintus] Orange Crush.
Mason, what you get? – Mango Delight. – [Clintus] Mango Delight. Bryce?
– I got Berry Banana Burst. – [Clintus] And I got
the Greenie Green Juice. – Same as Bryce. – [Clintus] Same as Bryce. – I got the same blend,
yours is disgusting. – [Clintus] (laughs) Not a fan. Back home,
showered, clean, refreshed. Time to start making dinner. We’ve got some
Cracker Barrel cheddar havarti mac and cheese we’re making. Just fired up the
grill and threw a pork tenderloin on there. I didn’t even read what
the seasoning flavor was. I think it’s
garlic herb, usually. Something herby,
something robust. Oh yeah. – [Tiffany] Kids
are super hungry. They burned some
calories hiking that mountain. – Technically we never had
lunch, we just had smoothies. – [Tiffany] Yeah, we just kind
of snacked and then smoothies so earlier dinner. It’s getting dark out,
so starting with our salads. – We got ice cream from
the ice cream truck earlier. – [Tiffany] You did. – So we have dessert. – It’s nice having
knives that can actually cut. Ooh, baby, nice
little medium, medium-well. – [Tiffany] Baby’s
dinnertime too. Scarfing down that yummy
doggie food, yummy, yummy. The stuff I eat every single
day of my life and still good, I like it. – [Clintus] How’s everything? – Great.
– [Clintus] Great. We’re gonna try
the steak sauce now, Ring of Fire steak sauce. Any excuse we can use
it, we’re gonna use it. Well I just
wrapped up my night stream. Good times, got to play
with friends a little bit. Played solo for the most part. The new rebrand
of my channel was accepted with open arms. If you haven’t seen it I have
a refreshed logo and banner on Twitch and on Twitter,
and also on ClintusGames over here on YouTube. Then on Twitch I have
all new panels, new overlay. Captain Twaz, he’s my designer. He’s the one who
created my first logo who does pretty much all of my
design work for Twitch and my gaming side of things. I might start commissioning
him to do some stuff here on Clintus.TV. I’m gonna be coming
up with a logo for that, a new banner,
that sort of thing. Maybe, we’ll see. But I’m gonna link to his
website, designbytwaz.com. I’ll have it linked down below. Go check it out. He does absolutely amazing work. If you’re ever in
the market for a logo or some serious design work. I say serious
because he’s not cheap. You get what you
pay for with Twaz. He’s amazing, he’s a wizard. That’s like the tagline,
we say Twaz is a wizard. He does amazing stuff. He’s the one that created
my identity, my branding. We just did a little
refresh on that here today and it looks awesome. If you haven’t checked
it out, go check it out and I will see you
tomorrow for Saturday hanging around the house. Sierra’s got
plans with her friends. I think the rest of us
are gonna kind of chill. Probably go and
replace Tiffany’s Apple Watch because she did
crack her Apple Watch. I don’t know if
we said that or not. I think the clip might be
there, I’m not sure which. Totally cracked her Apple Watch. It’s like a week after
Christmas, a week and a half, two weeks after Christmas. We had AppleCare so
we’re just gonna have to pay the money to have it
replaced unfortunately. We’ll probably go to the mall so we’ll see you guys tomorrow. Vlog on. (upbeat music)
