HOW TO DO A TWO FOOT SPIN | Figure Skating Lesson

hey guys today we are going to master
these two foot spin hope you guys are ready for this this one woohoo exciting
stuff guys we are getting ready for our first ever spin we’re gonna start off
just simply marching trying to gain momentum once we have enough speed we’re
gonna pull our arms and feet together at the same time arms are crossed tight
with our chests feet are parallel and right underneath the hips and shoulders when we have that marching entrance down
time to work on a different entrance our pivots we’re going to have one to pick
on the ice use our inside edge of the opposite foot and knee bend to pick up
the momentum once you pick up momentum from the pivot
simply pull your arms and legs in stay upright chest up waist straight to do a
beautiful spin finally we are ready for the most advanced and turns this is the
same entry level set us up for the 1 foot spin we are going to start off with our
feet in a T position we’re going to lead left arm and left leg in front if you’re
a righty opposite if you are a lefty I am creating a nice tight curve now it’s
time to add the spin at the end notice my front arm stays nice and upright
it doesn’t dip when I go into the spin you will feel your foots naturally do a
three-turn interestingly once you feel your foot doing the 3 turn that is when
you hold on the legs and to do a spin be sure never to drop the hips or
shoulders when going into the spin that will knock you off balance also make sure your feet are nice and
tight arms are hugging as tight as possible the tighter you are the faster
you will spin this will take some practice and patience
make sure your timing is correct your arms and feet are going in at the same
time right after you feel your leading foot going into that three turn that way
you can do it thanks so much for watching guys be sure to give me a
thumbs up and subscribe to my channel and social media for more skating
tutorials you guys Rock and see you all next time

  1. Hope you all enjoy my tutorials! Open to any requests for future videos ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thanks for sharing! I'll work on this as I still need to build confidence in my two foot spin and one foot spin. ๐Ÿ˜Šโ›ธโ›ธโ›ธโ›ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  3. There is an ice rink literally 5 mins drive from my house and your recent videos are definitely tempting us to try out some of these tricks haha!

  4. I am so frustrated with my spins these days, they travel sooo much and make like a cocoon drawing on the ice. I think I need to go back and start with practicing the pivots again.

  5. I've been really struggling with my spins… And this is a dumb question but when you spin on what part of the blade should you spin? Cause im used to hockey skates and when i try and spin im never spinning on my toe pic always mostly at the back or middle of my skates any tips please?

  6. Hello Coach Mary, thank you for the tutorial. I understand that we are supposed to spin on the ball of the skate, but I can't really keep my weight there for long and I'll eventually lean forward and stop because of the toe pick. Do you have any suggestions for that?

  7. I am an adult learner and I have done everything the video says but for some reason I only go around 1 and a 1/2 times. I am confused where my the presure should be on my skates. Should both feet be pressing down forward in the skate or one foot forward and the other back. When I watch others it is like they are slightly lifting the skate at back on one foot and at the front on the other. On these videos it looks like the blades are both staying on the ice. I am confused. Please help me spin. Thanks everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
