How to Improve Skating – Off-Ice Drills for Stride Power and Balance


Here we are going to go through the
single leg bound low sequence.So it is going to
be nice and low the entire time as we bound forward. We are never going to explode in fully
extend our leg going to keep that ninety degree knee bent, really working on endurance, strength,
balance and power in that single leg. Crucial to become a great skater
the first one you do is going to be without a stick. So it is going to be nice and low here in that ninety degree
position you just going to come forward and then stay low. Pause-in in each step so these are going to be
shorter jumps we are not going to jump for distance. Just doing nice short jumps maybe two feet
each time and is really working on control, balance
and power in that lower-body. Here nice and low and then just land here. Nice and short just staying low that
entire time so that you are not exploiting up and out.We are keeping that ninety agree
position throughout the entire movement, just with a little bit of power coming in from that compaq position.
