Manzer The One Week Old Colt // Versatile Horsemanship

hi mama it’s your baby doing he’s
thinking that he ought to be eating hay too so something we’re dealing with right
now is he does have a little bit of diarrhea I have put in a message to my
vet to see what she thinks on that I know that this is a normal thing that
happens I want to make sure that I do the right thing to prevent further
issues I know that they can it can continue on for quite some time and they
can lose all the hair on their bum and it probably gets pretty sore too so I
just want to make sure that I do everything that I can to help him be
comfortable get him cleaned up but the more his little tail flops around more
it spreads you can see it’s gonna dripping down his leg and
stuff too so that’s gonna start to get really itchy on the poor little day we
were gone Sunday and Monday and seeing him now he is so much straighter and
those little legs have really changed and are looking darker so I don’t think
he’s gonna have any white on his legs I don’t know it’s really hard to tell but
to me those look like they’re gonna be darker he sure thinks his mama’s dinner
is quite delicious bummer all cleaned up it’s good and
clean and I put vaseline on him tonight but I’ll probably I just happen to have
some so I use Vaseline for now but I’ll probably put desitin on him next time I
clean him up I’ll keep doing this Porsches are incredibly smart Nika has
been dealing with this frisky little boy for ten days and today she cannot stop
walking and I think she’s almost saying all right little boy you got energy to
burn we’re gonna burn it stick with me and because he is just dragging his
little butt behind her as she is just motoring around the arena this is
probably her tenth lap or more just in the last few minutes and he’s trying so
hard just to to tag along with her reminds me of myself and a little boy
that I know like geez mom oh I can watch these two
for hours it’s just awesome I decided tonight that I would leave
them in my ROM pen instead of leaving in the stall for the night I put a couple
flakes of straw down and he is taking mouthfuls and eating it what a little
stinker that’s supposed to be put in the land and I really want these guys to be
able to move around as much as possible and we can’t get him back in the pasture
yet so this will be pretty easy to clean up straw is pretty coarse so it cleans
up easy of course it’s gonna pee in the middle it’s nice to see him nursing on
the right side for a little while he didn’t want a
nurse on the right and Nica didn’t want him to nurse on the right so that was
kind of tricky for a little while because she was actually getting really
swollen on that side if he keeps beating her up like that
she’s not gonna let him nurse I think it’s not it he’s mad he prefers
to nurse on the other side put your little hoof be any closer to your mom’s
back leg I don’t think and they try to leave a little further away I’ve been spending a lot of time just
kind of hanging out and I just sit on a stool and I let him kind of come over to
me just rub on him and when he wants to leave he leaves this way I can find all the just like a toddler I’ll put rocks in
your mouth I really been enjoying this time hanging out with him he just comes
back and forth and then mama with her if you remember seeing all of the videos
with her being so uh needy and just wanting tons of attention
she’s like no just leave me alone and I think anybody that has had kids and gone
through the newborn stage any momma can really appreciate when somebody else
takes the baby and it gives mom a little break so I think she’s enjoying just
being able to wander and do her own thing she doesn’t want to be fussed with
right now she just kind of wants to to eat that’s all she wants to do is eat so
she’s like if you have snacks for me that’s great otherwise just leave me
alone so but she doesn’t have those same itchy spots that she had before so it’s
really interesting to see the changes already
they have both wandered into that stall baby went first he went in there and
peed in the middle of all the straw and then Nika just walked in there and
pooped it’s funny they can poop anywhere they want and they go in this doll to
poo let’s go see he will die what are you doing
are you eating hay with your no teeth he’s gumming it coming it yeah that’s
not okay you’re not allowed to chew on my shirt
is his teeth are coming in that’s gonna be a whole nother video so if you want
to watch if you want to see what baby teeth look like be sure to stay tuned
because that’s a whole another video now I would not let them wander around
this area if I were not with them I just let them wander around when I’m in here Rosi is afraid of him dude you

  1. Awwwww cute little guy. Whatta beautiful copy of his mother. I love palaminos he looks great. awww definitely a mommas boy cutie pie

  2. I be watching him from the day he birth and l love watching him grow up thank you for that and he is so beautiful still look more and more like he mum

  3. Thatโ€™s lovely footage of Manzer. Nikaโ€™s a really good mum too. Good to catch up with all of this. Iโ€™ll be interested to see what has happened over the past three months. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‹

  4. Awwwwww he is a beautiful foal. His windswept legs have had the opportunity to straighten out and strengthen because he was able to run around and exercise with his mamma. He was fast on his legs when they were still crooked though they didn't seem to hinder him at all! I think he will be able to gallop like the wind when he is grown.

  5. Such a little stinker!! And I have to agree, him and his tongue is hilarious!!! I so love seeing him progress into such a sweet little man!!! <3

  6. Wash his butt with water and a little baby shampoo, you can use vaseline. Kaopectate can be given to foals, its a turkey baster full though, not a tablespoon..they sell it by the gallon at the feed store.

  7. Thank you! It is great when you are teaching and when you include observation time. So enjoyable! Have a wonderful day!

  8. Thank you ! Manzer is so cute and interested in things ๐Ÿ˜ It is so amazing to see how baby socializes with objects, animals, at such an early stage. He won't be afraid of anything later. You are his second mamma too ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I love it when he follows the cat, too sweet. All babies on earth human or animals don't give any rest to their mum ๐Ÿคฃ even lion dad have to bear with the frolics of their own cubs. Nika is so gentle, she instinctly knows her feet are so close to her baby.

  9. Was glad to see in his more current video that his little but grew back his fur. He's a beautiful little colt. I would be as proud as you are.

  10. At 11 days old does he already have teeth? Or is he gumming it. Very curious about this. Because that's really fast for someone born with out teeth. Also I have seen so many moms after weeks still looking pregnant but she already looks like she's got her figure back. Is there a reason some still look pregnant and she doesn't. Obviously curious about this too

  11. Manzer is just so gorgeous, with his funny tongue & long eyelashes! His stop/turn around at 13:14 was pretty impressive for a little guy. Thanks for the video, great way to start my day.

  12. After seeing him at 3 months old and now looking back at his first few weeks, Manzer has grown to say the least. Also I know he had some initial health issues and it looks like each has resolved or are nearly resolved. I think that with Manzer being your first foal, you (and all of us that are new to the world of foals) were nervous Nillies but he looks to be doing awesome (phew) and is a little slice heaven. I enjoy watching him grow.

  13. I know the feeling of having the runs. It's not comfortable. Cleaning up after that, makes one's bum feel better.

  14. I'm with you about watching them all day! He's so cute when he runs, kicks and jumps! Enjoy your videos so much!๐Ÿ˜Š

  15. OMGOSH – three things: 1.) THAT FACE with the flag!!!! That is a whole new level of cuteness right there. 2.) I am pretty sure he did a slide stop/rollback…just sayin' 3.) The tongue with the sleepy face is hilarious. Just like a newborn baby, you can watch them ALL DAY LONG! Nikka is the bet Momma ever, so patient. Thank you for the mid-week dose of adorable!

  16. Manzer is so gorgeous .What an new adventure for you .and you are learning and it's good for future! ( ๐Ÿ˜ตat times I know)Thankyou for sharing this handsome manzer and mom Nikki 's journey! Love ya๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’–

  17. I'm interested in what causes the scours. I've had a blocked duct. I can feel for Nica. Warm compresses and feeding on that side first was the human solution. I have a friend who had a couple breast infections. Her doctor gave her antibiotics. It happened when her baby was growing and backing off nursing. Little Linda is walking now and with three older siblings there is plenty of distractions.

  18. No older than he was here he sure does run fast! The flag had his curiosity up! I thought Nika was going to pop him one for kicking so close to her!๐Ÿ˜„ Hope that diarrhea resolved pretty fast so he didn't get weak or lose weight. Is his little nose softer than a grown horse's? I always think a horse's nose feels like velvet๐Ÿฅฐ He's the most adorable little guy. I never want the video to end, so if you want to make them longer I'd be so happy!! I'm curious what he thought of your German Shepherd since they were close to the same size in his first few weeks? He seemed intrigued with the kitty! Thank you for letting us watch the baby boy againโค

  19. I love your videos, you have a wonderful way about you and how you edit, it feels like we are right there with you, enjoying your horses along side you ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. I love.baby.so.much.he.is.so.beautiful,.like.his.mommy.i.hope,he.feels.better,you are.so.good.with.them๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜†

  21. Beautiful boy Mr. Manzer is!! Most foals will get diarrhea when the mare comes into her first heat after foaling. It is normal, and most refer to it as SCOURS. He's a very curious colt. Should make for a great horse when you start backing him. But there are many things you can teach them before they get backed. And as he's a colt, manners, manners, manners!! Can't stress this point enough. I've even had fillies come into the barn after they had foaled somewhere else and the foal was nippy and had no manners at all. Which I promptly corrected, as I'm the one who works with the mares and foals the most. And Nika is being a great momma. Best Regards from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Jenn.

  22. Manner was so adorable when you were waving the flag. I definitely have a soft spot for Nika , she is such a good mum.

  23. My friend's baby girl had the tongue thing going on until she was about 2! Too cute! And the puss steals the show…again!

  24. I donโ€™t think, Iโ€˜ve ever seen a foal, that looks so much like a teddy version of a real animal ๐Ÿ˜„
He just looks so plushy and exaggerated with his overlong legs and ears! What a cutie…

  25. Sooooooooooo stinking cute!!!! Funny watching the baby playing stretching his little legs, and melted my heart and made me laugh at him drinking his milk, the little tongue, so sweet. I miss being around horses. It's been years now. I used to love just hanging out at the stables I helped out at, usually on a wet rainy day, just the smell of the horses coat, and the noise of them munching. Horses are so relaxing to be around. I can no longer ride as I am mostly bed ridden due to illness which has left me unable to walk so I use a powered wheelchair. I suppose I could use a cart instead lol. It has crossed my mind. I have wonderful memories, so I enjoy your videos and other horsey videos and vlogs. Thank you for sharing your very honest and real journey

  26. I know you've had health issues with this gorgeous lil guy, but keep in mind some of the very best horses, even Olympic ones, were the most challenging to raise. I can't wait to see him grow up and win his first ribbon.

  27. Manzer is such a cutie. I am interested to know what makes his mom your favorite horse, and what you plan to do with him in the years to come.

  28. I absolutely love your videos and I learned so much and I was curious and wondering if one day we can meet in person and hang out ? I live in Gresham Oregon
