well Northwest Montana woman who spent more than a decade riding around the US on horseback shared stories from her travels in Helena Bernie sandy gave a presentation at the Lewis and Clark library she’s written a book about her experiences titled lady long writer in 2005 nd first decided to ride from her home in Lincoln County to New Mexico over two thousand miles she says it was difficult but she fell in love with it since then she and her horses have covered more than 30,000 miles I’m doing backroads small towns I’m ruining it riding in and out of rural America and and it’s not like I’m traveling by car you ride your you’re open you’re exposed to everybody and everybody smile and everybody’s welcoming and and you share the stories and and you pass on the goodness and you keep going this year nd has done shorter rides in France and along the Mexican border her next ride will be about a thousand miles along the east coast
