ACCORDING TO THE MINOT PD, THE SHOOTING INCIDENT HAPPENED ON MONDAY IN SOUTHWEST MINOT. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THOMPSON HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH 6 FELONY COUNTS OF RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, 1 COUNT OF BURGLARY, AND 1 COUNT OF TERRORIZING. HE’S BEING HELD AT THE WARD COUNTY JAIL. ONE IS ON HOUSE BILL 1530 — WHICH WOULD GET RID OF THE STATE’S INCOME TAX, AND MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE USING EARNINGS FROM THE LEGACY FUND. THIS PASSED IN THE HOUSE BY A VOTE OF 61 TO 31 — BUT HAS A “DO NOT PASS” RECOMMENDATION FROM THE SENATE FINANCE AND TAXATION COMMITTEE. THE SENATE IS ALSO SCHEDULED TO VOTE ON A BILL THAT WOULD NO LONGER MAKE IT A CRIMINAL OFFENSE TO RIDE A BICYCLE OR A HORSE WHILE INTOXICATED.
