Hello all of you! Welcome too horse riding with fun! My name is Destiny! I started this channel to help people who like to start with horse riding and for people who want to know more about it. In this movie I will explain what kind of equipment you need to start with horse riding Later on, in other video’s, I will explain more about how to take care of your horse, how to saddle your horse, your posture and much more… Please do not forget to subscribe to my channel, so you will be updated when I post a new video on youtube. Every time you’ll get a automatic message Lets start, what do you need? First I will tell something about the clothing you need. First and most important is the safety cap it is required If you buy one in the shop, please ask them if the cap is approved by a proper institute. You place the cap on your head like this. Be sure that you have both cords nicely on the sides before putting the cap on your head Put it on your head Be sure the cap is not too tight and not too loose when it is on your head My hair is getting in the way Fasten the belt and voila!!!!! Take it off the same way What is also nice to have, is a riding pants. My preference is a pant with a leather sitting surface. Like you see also with this riding pant. At the bottom you have velcro! Be sure it fits tightly around your leg Like here! Over this you will put thick socks I use special horse riding socks which I bought in a horse riding shop. You pull these socks over your pants Take care that nothing is folded double underneath this socks, because this will hurt during riding. If you have rings around your fingers, it is recommend to use horse riding gloves. I wear gloves too, although I have no rings But I like to ride with gloves because when a horse gets carried away, it prevents my hands of getting hurt or bleeding. You have them in all kind of types For in the winter I prefer these. They keep your fingers warm and the prevent the reins too slip out of your hands What is also nice to have is a horse riding bag, where you can put all your stuff in. But, what kind of shoes do you wear? When you start horse riding for the first time it is easiest to put on rubber boots, if you do not have already bought riding boots. You can wear these rubber boots for a view times, but after you need to buy real horse riding boots. You have two types, you have horse riding boots These are from my mother, they are too big for me… Be sure they fit nicely on your leg! What you also have are Jodphurs with chaps Jodphurs are a kind of shoes, specially for horse riding You have them in all kind of types. Rubber, leather, with a zipper or button or just without any kind of zipper or button I advise you, when you just starting to ride, to buy rubber boots. because leather jodphurs or boots are quit expensive. When you use jodphurs you need chaps along with it, because otherwise your jodhpur can hook to the bracket when you fall of your horse and it can irritate your horse caused by scrubbing You will put the chaps on like this.. Be sure that nothing is folded double pull the zipper up button it then you grap the chap and be sure the button is on the outside, I took the wrong one.. you pull it over the tip of your shoe you push it back be sure that the zipper is completely at the top you insert it you pull the zipper al the way down be sure you will not ride like this, because it can be very annoying during riding push the handle of the zipper down and then pull strap with button over it be sure that this is tightened well So it will give your leg more support like this!!! If you have difficulties taking of your shoes or boots after riding you can buy in a horse shop a device that helps you with this it works like this you unzip your shoes/boots you put one feet on the device the other feet you put in the device and now you can pull your feet out of the shoe / boot especially with horse riding boots it can be difficult to get your feet out of it because these sit tighter around your legs so it is more difficult to pull them out Be sure that you clean your jodphurs or boots well You can do this with a brush to remove sand For leather shoes or boots it is recommended to have a kind of shoe polish to smoothen them. I will now tell you something about some extra equipment. First you have a whip, you will not directly need this because they often have this at the riding school but it is always nice to have one This is a kind of dressage whip It is kind of long, thin and a soft bottom This whip you can use for jumping and for dressage as well. It is not too long and also not too short It has a hard bottom and is not to wide. This one is broken, because it should be one piece This is a whip especially used for horse jumping it is short and this should be like this it has a wide bottom Often you see at the riding school that horse have halter and with it you have a lead rope I will discuss this in a later video It is also nice to have some cleaning stuff For now, I just show them and in a later video I will explain how to use them This is a rubber horse comb a hand horse comb a plastic horse comb a hard brush a soft brush a brush block, with this you can remove small hairs and eggs of insects a sponge, with this you can clean around the eyes and mouth of the horse. Be careful with the eys, because a horse is very sensitive over there a mane comb be sure that you do this careful and often because the mane can be tangled hoove scrapper be careful because the horse has a sensitive spot in his hooves where it can be very painful. I will explain in another video how to scrap a hoof I have also shampoo in my suitcase because I like to wash my horse and also because I use it before a match In a later video about matches, I will show more of this This is the end of my video, I hope you like it and have learned something from it.
