Private Swim Lesson Tips & Swimming Lesson Guide | FAQ

Hi My name is Diana Goodwin and I’m the president and founder of AquaMobile Swim School At AquaMobile, we get a lot of questions regarding swim lessons and what the best way to book is In this video, I will be answering some of the most frequently asked questions that our customers and potential customers ask us one of the top questions is, how frequently should I book swimming lessons for my children? We find that most students tend to thrive and progress faster with more intensive programs of at least 2-3 lessons a week if you are only having lessons once a week the children tend to forget too much in between lessons especially, throw in a vacation where you miss one lesson and two weeks can go by without the children having any lessons Intensive programs of everyday lessons are also effective and work best for family who vacation or have busy scheduled with summer activities Research has shown that skills are better acquired with regular intensive practice, rather than intermittent practice and our experience over the past 13 years has yielded the same conclusion another common question we get is How many lessons should I book for my children? At AquaMobile we recommend booking between 8 -12 lessons This is because children need to build on the progress of past lessons It can even take a few lessons for things to click and for children to start learning at a faster pace Fewer than 8 lessons and you run the risk of cutting short the progress Just as they are starting to get the hang of swimming skills and develop their confidence Another question that we get frequently is What is right age for my child to start swimming lessons? Children can start as early as 6 months old and between the ages of 6- 18 months, this is a good time for your infants to get comfortable in and around the water enviroment By the time you reach 18 months, the instructor can start to more effectively work with the child on skills to develop independence in the water Progress will happen more quickly as the child grows and becomes stronger The million dollar question! How long will it take for my child to learn how to swim? This is a question that every parent wants to know The thing is without first being in the water with your child It is quite difficult to be able to give a definitive answer as every child and adult, progresses at different rates The best way to figure this out though is to give you a ball park estimate Would actually be to have the instructor in the water with your child For a couple of lessons so that they can give you a more informed answer that can only come with getting to know your child in the water and how comfortable they are Another question we are asked that’s more specific to AquaMobile Can I reschedule my lessons if need be, whether due to illness, vacation, weather and the answer is absolutely! We just ask that you inform the office A minimum of 24 hours in advance, and the sooner we know the better So we can reschedule for you In the case of last minute emergencies It’s important to inform the instructor as soon as possible via their cell number that they will provide you Before the first lesson, as well as the office number Sometime we are asked if it’s possible to book a trial lesson Trial lessons tend not to be a good indicator of the progress that can be made throughout a series of 8 or more lessons The first lessons can be a bit awkward because the instructor and the child are still getting comfortable with each other and it may actually be 2 or 3 lessons before that comfort level is developed If for whatever reason you are not happy with the progress that’s being made you feel that it’s not working out with the instructor we can absolutely find you another instructor that might be a better fit with your child or if that doesn’t work we will 100% refund you your money Another question that gets asked is How soon in advance should I book my lesson And the answer is as soon as possible Times due tend to fill up quickly once we open registration Especially, for times during May, June and July Come middle of August as the kids go back to school Things tend to open up a bit more That’s why we also encourage you to book a set of lessons and then if for whatever reason you need to change things or you’re unhappy Its easier to cancel the lessons Than to actually call after 1 or 2 lessons and try and book more the times that you wanted may have already been filled up by another customer If this video has helped you, give it a thumbs up and let us know in the comments If you have any other questions that you need answering feel free to ask them in the comments below, or give us an email at [email protected] or call us in the office at 1-888-950-7946 Thanks and happy swimming!
