Ride With this Unique New Orleans Bike Club

Ride With this Unique New Orleans Bike Club

– First of all, we’re girly-girls. We like to be cute,
but we still get dirty. Every time we come out, our shoes, our outfits are always
matchin’, our makeup is done. Is it hard to ride in heels? No, because if you can walk in them, you can probably ride in them. We’re not the typical biker chick. When the Curves come on the
set, it’s complete chaos. (motorcycle engine revs) – My name is Tru, and
I’m one of the founders of Caramel Curves Motorcycle
Club here in New Orleans. – My name is Coco, and
I’m one of the founders and the president of Caramel
Curves Motorcycle Club. We are a motorcycle club like no other. We come out club-ready every
time we hit the streets. – When we first started off,
I just rolled by myself, and then Coco, she just rolled by herself. We kinda got together and was like, let’s start somethin’ together, ’cause the guys always
had their bike clubs, but what’s more sexy than
ridin’ with a bunch of girls? – [Interviewer] Pretty much nothing. – Nothin’, nothin’ at all. (laughs) – The name Caramel Curves
was made up by luck. We came up with Caramel ’cause of the complexion of our skin, and then we came up with
Curves for two reasons: For one, we take curves on a
motorbike better than a man, and we some curvy girls. We are mothers, we are daughters, we are everything that every other average woman is in the world. – I’m really, really passionate
about female empowerment. Women knowing that they can
do whatever they want to do. Ridin’ bikes used to be a guy thing. We’re still bein’ discriminated
against across the board. Bein’ a Caramel Curve, we
have demanded our respect. I just encourage any woman
that wants to ride a bike, that thinks that she can’t do it, girl, you can do that shit.
(laughs) You know? Go ahead. (motorcycle engine revs) – The coolest thing about bein’
a Caramel Curve biker chick is the response and the love that we get from kids up to women. – When the little kids look up to us, it’s that thing that makes her feel like, you know what, if she can
do it, I can do it, too. That’s what makes you feel like, yeah, you know what, let’s
keep doin’ what we’re doin’. Bein’ a Caramel Curve, I
truly feel like, is my legacy. I’m gonna ride across country, I’ma go live, and I’ma
do it in heels. (laughs) (single resonating note)

  1. Absolutely love it!! Don't think I would or COULD do it in heels now, but I love what they are doing. Go girls GO!!!!

  2. Try riding with a full face helmet on with full makeup. My experience? They gotta bring out a helmet that promotes CLEAN skin at SOME stage, as wearing a helmet is sweaty a lot of the time (I live in Australia) and if you wear makeup ONE day .. that makeup will wear off on the lining next to your skin, along with the sweat and dirt from the road/air etc .. so can really clog your pores and stuff up your skin. Can underatand why these women don't weat helmets for that reason BUT for safety reasons, I would no more not gear up than fly to the moon, whether the law permits or not. I used to ride to my admin job in all my gear, but make sure I arrived early and just go into bathroom and do my makeup and hair and voila .. ready for work. But hair also is a mongrel with helmets .. so I get why they do this (wear no helmets) .. in theory.

  3. Oh please, discrimination???? No, you look foolish just like some dudes do. So there ya go. For you it's all a show, not about the sisterhood or riding.

  12. I been riding since 1980. I have owned a crotch rocket and a cruiser. I was the only female in a motorcycle club that rode her own bike. Most women rode on the back with a man. I rode bikes when no other black women or men was riding on the daily. I started the motorcycle craze in the south.

  13. Bunch of sexist know it all haters on here. First there's nothing wrong with wearing Heels and non-Leather jackets, I wear Heels and non-Leather jackets while riding all the time, the only thing they are missing is their helmet which I'm sure they wear. Second these white folks butthurt over the name, grow a sack damn it, the creator is Caramel, she came up with a cool name to represent black women kind of like Black Greeks (Fraternity and Sorority) that doesn't mean she's racist and white aren't aloud jesus you white folks want to be included in everything stop your bitching. And third to the sexist fucks, stfu! That's all I have to say.

  14. Riding biked has never been a man thing. Some kf the best riders have been women. Sometimes we bring "discrimination" on ourselves. Keep Riding Gurls!

  15. I have always found lady's that ride motorcycles, ride them properly, very sexy. My beautiful wife has her fabulous Suzuki GT 380, and she says dosn't ride like a man,she can ride properly, she knows how to get it home and can do pretty much all of the maintenance herself (she can, but she doesn't). She looks all kinds of fine when she's out riding, but she also knows that wearing proper motorcycle gear keeps you alive. Come on girl's don't just inspire those kid's wanting their photo's with you, be a role model and tell them that "Leather" don't just excite you, it can help save your life. And the best fashion accessory for any motorcycle, is a matching helmet, that tarmac will tear your face off. Be safe.

  17. nananana riding in heels is definitely not safe, for so many reasons. I ride my mountain bike in heel sometimes but a bicycle is way easier, my respect to you for risking wearing heels with such kind of bike, just for the sake of attention….
