Snowboard Sizing—What Size Snowboard do I Need? || REI

– Hey, I’m Katie with REI
and today we are gonna talk about how to size snowboards. It mostly comes down to weight and the type of riding you like to do. So let’s get into it. (downtempo music) So the first way to go about
this is the old school method. Stand the board up on its
end and it should come up to between your nose and your chin. The more precise way to go
about this is by weight. Some manufacturers will
provide weight ranges for each length of board so you can always check the specs on your gear. If you’re shopping online,
we also have a chart down in the description where you can find your weight, and then a length of board that would work for you. So for example, this is
a 156 centimeter board and it goes along with a 150-
to 165-pound weight range. Additional considerations: If you like to go fast, err
on the side of a longer board. If you like to ride in the
park or ride through the trees, a shorter board will work better for you. We have lots of cool snowboard
videos for you to check out, and until then, we’ll see you next time. (downtempo music)
