Snowboarding crash: Shaun White lands on head during Olympic qualifier

And Shaun is down. A nasty crash at Mammoth Mountain in California,
as snowboarder Shaun White runs into trouble during a qualifier for the US Olympic Slopestyle
team. And Shaun is down. Man, he took a tough one right there. We have
a great medical staff also to patrol out here. We’ll make sure that Shaun is okay. After completing several tricks on the run,
White crashed face first at the end of a long jump, lying still on the snow for several
minutes until medics arrived. Shaun, if you’re within ear shot, we’re going
to check you out here. We want to make sure, you know, if you are hurt that you don’t move. Fortunately, the snowboarder managed to make
it down the slope on his own following the incident, before returning several hours later
for another run that clinched the 27-year-old a spot on the team for the Sochi Games.

  1. When will this sport learn your helmets need a redesign, we must try to get the sport too look at new possibilities ,
When someone dies infront of the world they may then finally redesign a helmet which could help eliminate this kind of brain injury. It could have got Kevin Peters too the Olympics….
