Vigil honors girl, 12, who died in freak barrel riding accident

THEY ARE KEEPING IT LIT TO HONOR 12-YEAR-OLD KAYLEE CHANDLER, WHO LOVE BEING HERE AROUND HORSES. OF ALL THE LEFT TURNED AT THE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS, THIS ONE MAY BE THE HARDEST. THE PEOPLE OF OTHER STANDING TOGETHER AT THE SAME SPOT KAYLEE CHANDLER TURNED SO MANY BARRELS. HER SISTER WAS THERE FOR IT ALL.>>I GOT SOME QUIET TIME TO JUST SIT THERE AND SPEAK TO HER, AND JUST BE SISTERS FOR A LITTLE BIT. MATT: CHANDLER’S LOVE OF HORSES JUST AS STRONG AS HER LOVE FOR BASKETBALL. HER TEAMMATES RAISING $5,000 AND ONE DAY AT A BAKE SALE.>>SHE WAS STRONG. SHE WAS A BETTER PERSON THAN ALL OF US HERE. MATT: IN THE TOWN, PEOPLE LOWERED THEIR FLAGS, CANCELED THEIR BALLGAMES, CAME TO THE HORSE ARENA WHERE SHE ALWAYS SMILED.>>SHE HAD A SMILE AS BIG AS A HORIZON AROUND HERE. MATT: AS THE PASTOR HELPED

  1. Her thin frame required a welsh pony so if it fell on her it would not have crushed her. It was an accident waiting to happen when these kind of mismatches are mad though. Just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it a wise choice. Still I do feel very bad for the family and believe this little girl wanted to ride the big horses and wouldn't have been happy with anything less
