Dressage lesson and vet-visit Hi and welcome to this video Today I wanted to vlog because Irish and I are going to have a lesson this morning and later we’re going to bring Perle to the vet’s to have a tooth of hers pulled out. Right now, it’s around half past 7 and Irish and I are going to have a lesson at half past 8 so I’m in the middle of preparing by grooming and finding a little tack. Irish is a little out of her mind because all the other horses are down in the fields, including Perle Later we’ll change them around so Irish gets to stay in the field while we bring Perle with us. (“Aww, you’re so cute! Yaay”) But as you can see, Irish really needs some grooming especially right here… Now I’ve just groomed Irish for almost 15 minutes This is almost impossible to get off but it’s almost gone now, so I’ll just change shoes and then we’re ready. Now I’ve just changed into riding boots, found all our tack and carrots And Irish is ready too I just checked the outdoor arena and we should probably train outside, because we’re training for a show and the measures for the show arena fits better with the ones on our outdoor arena than the indoor one But the outdoor arena is too soft and heavy because of the weather we’ve had lately So we’ll take the indoor arena and let things take their course. We just had our lesson and now we’re just cooling down. Irish was super nice for our lesson. We trained for our show next weekend So we started off with doing our program for our teacher, who helped and gave tips. Afterwards we focused on extended trot and transitions from walk to trot and Irish did a great job. So we had a nice lesson. What’s going to happen now is that we’ll just finish with Irish and then she gets to go into the pasture where Perle is now together with their friends. Then Irish gets to stay there, when we bring Perle with us to the vet’s place. Perle just arrived at the vet’s place and we’re waiting for her to get x-rayed and then have her surgery *Or so we thought…* *The explanation* Perle is going to have a tooth removed Another vet found what seemed to be a cracked tooth last week It looked like a little laceration, but she was afraid the root would also soon crack So now we’re going to have it x-rayed to see the root and have it removed If it is cracked of course… “Horse clinic & surgery” The vet started out with a normal check up on the teeth But he didn’t think any of Perles teeth were cracked. So his assistant found an endoscope to see a live-video of wherever the little camera pointed to where all of us could see a clear picture of every single tooth. Perle’s teeth are not that good because of her past (she was neglected) but there was one tooth where the middle was so dark you could only see the sides at first view and that’s why it seemed cracked. There wasn’t anything our vet wanted to/should do with the teeth but he removed some grass in between the teeht in Perle’s lower denture and then we’ll just continue doing everything we can to take care of Perle’s teeth. It went really easily with Perle today and we’re already on our way home again. It’s almost 11 O’clock so Perle will be home in the pasture with Irish very early. Lunch at home before going to the stable again to ckeck up on Perle. Check, Perle was still fine. Now I’m home again after the last time at the stable for today so I’ll end this vlog here. I hope you enjoyed watching. I would like to thank you for doing so And I hope to see you again in my next video. Bye!
